J.K. Rowling and Stephenie Meyer are prime examples of this. Both of them have written in a way that is clearly imperfect. But the stories are captivating with worlds and characters that seem authentic.
I wonder if people would think they were dry and stiff if they wrote perfectly, or if people would like the books more… I cannot say, maybe both.
